Kallen -- Piirmy (Request) by amirafox
Kallen -- Piirmy (Request)
Here is :iconpiirmy: 's OC Kallen!  Some pics of his character design can be found here:

I hope you like it! I used a couple of references for the scarf and pose! I also tried to add my own take on his character and make him look a bit older.

Thank you so much for the practice <3

I had a pretty hard time with this piece, mostly because I haven't drawn boys in such a long time! Whenever I doodle, I tend to draw girls because girls' eyes are just so much easier for me to draw! I warmed up with some practice sketches of Dylan O'Brien and Levi (my favs), but they're too horrible to post on DA.

Those are mountains in the background, not pyramids OTL. I drew the frame mostly thinking about design and pattern making -- it doesn't hold any meaning in regards to the character.

~3 hours, .7 mechanical pencil, .05 micron pen, and .8 micron pen
Been running around, but don't worry, I'm slowly but surely working on requests! Thanks for being patient!
Pixies -- Jadelh (Request) by amirafox
Pixies -- Jadelh (Request)
Here are :iconjadelh: 's OCs :

I drew Indigo Twilight (on the left) and Ultra Violet (on the right). I took some creative freedom and added some additional designs to the outfits because I'm experimenting with more of a design technique.

I didn't use any references, so I know the anatomy is a bit off (especially the hands, oh my god! They're so difficult for me to draw. I need to look at stock photos.). I also had a hard time with the clothes and wrinkles, but hopefully they'll get better with practice.

Anyhow, I really hope you like it! Thanks so much for the practice!

~ 5 hours, .7 mechanical pencil, .8 micron pen, and .05 micron pen on Strathmore Toned Gray paper (it has an excellent texture!)

Here is :iconslave2karma: 's OC :…

I hope you like it! You're always helping me improve through your requests! <3

I had a great time drawing this piece. I realize that I still have major issues drawing hands and feet, but hey, practice is practice.

Hey! I want some more practice with traditional art, so I'm taking requests this week. I prefer drawing fanart over OCs, but I don't mind drawing anything as long as it doesn't contain mature content.

Things I'd like to work on:
-Facial expressions

Here's some of my recent work with pen and pencil:

Hey!  I know I've been very inactive this past year, and I want to try and make it up this summer.  I'm taking summer classes, so I don't have too much time on my hands during the weekdays (or really the weekends, for that matter).  The class I'm currently taking has a pretty heavy workload, and I won't be finished with it until next week (that means studying for quizzes and the final, eek). I'll have next weekend off, though, and I'm hoping I can spit out some quick pieces.  I'm planning on drawing/sketching that entire weekend, and I'm going to head to the art store downtown and pick up some art supplies.  After that weekend, I start another class, but hopefully by that time I'll manage my time a bit better. If not, I'll be home for a couple of weeks before school starts, and I'll definitely be working on the majority of my unfinished pieces.

Here's what I hope to work on:

-Architecture and landscape
-Quick, semi-realistic doodles (some might feature fanart -- I haven't decided yet)
-Anatomy (the two main things I want to work on this summer are architecture and anatomy because they're still the hardest things for me to draw)
-Realistic portraits
-Dragons (of course)
-Pattern-making/vector images (Adobe Illustrator is AMAZING. I'm still a beginner, but I've been watching some tutorials in my free time, and honestly, it's is so much more versatile than Photoshop Elements.  I don't have Photoshop CS6, so I can't compare Illustrator CS6 to it.  But damn, Illustrator has a TON of nifty features.)

I'm not going to take any requests this summer (because I always fail to properly gauge when I'll finish requests), but feel free to suggest a topic (preferably one that overlaps with the topics listed above)!  I might end up including the suggestion in some of my sketches!
  • Mood: Neutral
  • Listening to: Youtube Jazz Study Music
  • Watching: The Legend of Korra :D
  • Drinking: Hazelnut Latte

Good days, bad days -- we must persist in the face of challenge if we ever hope to improve.
"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit." -- E.E. Cummings
